Welcome to Town Stitch! My name is Melissa TOWNsend and I’m the artist and creator behind each hand-painted needlepoint canvas you’ll find on this site. I’m a proud Louisiana native, and I’ve spent a majority of my life longing to turn my love of art into a career I can't wait to wake up and do. I’m a wife, a proud mom, and a lifelong lover of all things blue, preppy, and all things pop culture!

From a young age, I’ve always had a passion for art, but it wasn’t until I discovered needlepoint that I found my true creative calling. There’s something magical about bringing a blank canvas to life, sending it out into the world and then seeing someone else’s vision unfold with their own unique touch.

Earlier this year, I decided to take the leap and follow my heart. I now pour my creativity into designing and hand-painting every needlepoint canvas you’ll find here.
